Photos the Sequel...

Here are some more snaps. Including school photos from ym time at Carina State School. It was a very happy time in my life. After I hit high school, my school life went to hell...... It wasn't easy being me at high school. Ra ra, so I wont be putting any high school pics here. Primary school was much kinder. We got to pat rabbits in my classroom! (Someone's parent brought one in). That was all well and good and pretty super, considering that day after lunch we also had an excursion, where we got to pat more animals! If I could have any job, it would be as a tour guide on safari, and mingling with the big cats. I love lions and tigers, oh my.

Please note, because of the limitations of what this site builder can do, this page looks messier than the other photo page, which worked out really nicely. So I'm sorry for how this page appears. I'm not an expert at html and have no idea what html stands for! This is the best I can do. But you will get the picture!

Any help is appreciated...............................

Can you find me? This is year 4, 1985. Carina State School was good to me.

That's my best freind of year 2 behind me in white. We were such good friends. Keira, if you're out there, say hi to me!

They got that wrong. I was part of a 5 member squad, and Brian's team had 7 males in it. Nor were we really all that "young." It makes us sound like we're about 12 yrs old or something.

This is me aged 13 years. With friends at Forster, NSW. 1988. This was a fun summer, even if it is the ugliest photo in the whole collection. Doesnt look like me at all. It was a very fun summer, and I have lots of fond memories connected with this picture, even though it's ugly.

Someone very dear to me in this world did this for me a long while ago. When I was 19, my hair was pretty full. It's a good stylized representation of me at that age. I was very touched to receive it and still have it, almost as good as the day it was sketched! Thank you Smile

This certificate was awarded to me by Yamashita Shihan after I received the 2nd Dan. This certificate certifies me as a sensei in my own right.

This is my Shodan grading certificate, put on here for old times' sake. My name is in red katakana and lovely blue text :)

Local paper article, July 1991.

Salvaged from my suitcase. This is the decipherable part.

1986. This is I. My Dad took this photo but I was in a mood with good reason to be and didn't want it taken.

6 questions. What is the first thing you think of when you see this trophy? Does it say "life and death" to you? Does it say "dignity?" Then why do people chase after trophies in karate? Are you alive? Is your spirit strong? Then that is the only trophy you need.

This is my Senior Instructor Certificate, awarded to me by Shihan Yamashita Akira, 12th Dan, after I was awarded the 3rd Dan. You will see that this takes the form of an original award type of makimono (scroll). It is done on parchment with a hand-written style, and sealed with Shihan Yamashita's seal. This is the original type of certificate. No borders or pretty pictures. Yamashita Akira was much into the traditional side of things. Certificates were no exception.

The Goju-Kai fist: The symbol of my first karate club, in which I also achieved black belt level.
